“To take medicine only when you are sick is like digging a well only when you are thirsty - is it not already too late?"

- Ch'i Po, c. 2500 B.C

Chinese herbs are the precursors to the practice of acupuncture.  Through centuries of careful qualitative documentation of signs, symptoms and results, Chinese herbology is a refined practice today.  Herbal therapy at Stillpoint consists of first making a Chinese medical diagnosis using tongue, pulse, and hara (abdominal) assessments and second, choosing between patents, tailor-made powdered granules or raw herbal formulas.  Stillpoint Acupuncture & Wellness center has a raw herbal pharmacy, granule pharmacy, and several patent lines.

Every herb in a herbal formula works synergistically with one another to balance the energetics of each contributing herb.  The intention is to follow the Chinese medical diagnoses, choose herbs based on this diagnoses, and thus, relieve the imbalances in the patient's body.  The true gift of Chinese herbology is treating not only a patient's symptoms, but the root of these symptoms as well as watching  to see how the root is affecting other organ systems.  If the cause, or root is not addressed, the symptoms or imbalance will repeat itself again and again.
The Chinese herbs used at Stillpoint Acupuncture & Wellness Center are the very best available.  All pills, powders, and raw herbs are ordered from reputable companies under strict regulations and cleanliness conditions, with a focus on quality, purity, and potency. All the pills we prescribe have been produced according to the latest FDA standards and approved through CGMP (Current Good Manufacturing Practices, a stringent standard created in Australia).
