M. Jean Hardesty-Prater, M.Ac.O.M., L. Ac.

Jean performs Traditional Chinese Acupuncture, Facial Renewal Acupuncture, and offers Traditional Chinese Herbal Medicine, treating both pain and "dis-eases" of the body (mind/spirit) as well as signs of stress and aging on the face.

She has been active in the alternative health field for over 12 years. In her practice, Jean works with all ages with a special interest in women’s issues and autoimmune diseases. Jean has also studied advanced Daoist Chinese Acupuncture techniques and Chinese Herbal Medicine with the distinguished Classical Chinese Medical teacher, Jeffrey Yuen. Much of this study has focused on Cancer and adjunct therapy treatments for side-effects of Chemotherapy and radiation. In addition, Jean has studied advanced pulse techniques (Dr. Leon Hammer) and Dr. Tan style acupuncture.

Having lectured on Chinese Medicine and acupuncture, Jean is available for seminars, health-fairs, and other speaking opportunities. Also, Jean has demonstrated / taught Facial Renewal Acupuncture in Asheville, North Carolina, Greenville, South Carolina, and Virginia Beach, Virginia. As a NCCAOM certified Provider for Facial Renewal Acupuncture, CEUs available.

"Luke" Feng Sui, M.Ac.O.M., L. Ac.

Luke holds Master of Science Degree in Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine from Florida College of Integrative Medicine. Majored in Traditional Chinese Internal Medicine, he also received a Master’s Degree as an academic honors graduate from Guangzhou University of Traditional Chinese Medicine, which is one of the top three Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) universities in China. In two and a half years of practicing at one of China’s largest hospitals, Guangdong provincial hospital of TCM, he gained valuable clinic experience working with doctors from diverse specialties. Luke has also been a volunteer medical assistant for the elderly. He is fluent in Chinese Mandarin and English, and has been an interpreter for American students.

Luke is a licensed acupuncturist both in Florida and Virginia, and a diplomate in Oriental Medicine (Acupuncture and Chinese Herbs) through the National Certification Commission for Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine (NCCAOM). As a well-trained acupuncturist and Chinese herbalist, Luke will do his very best to help patients gain the maximum benefit of his expertise and experience.

Michael L. Prater

Michael makes up the other half of the Team for Stillpoint Acupuncture. He manages the office, sets the appointments, answers general questions, and prepares herbal formulas as Jean prescribes. Together, with a strong commitment to patient balance and care, an environment rich in one’s well-being is achieved.

Michael has worked side-by-side with Jean since October 2002. A retired Air Force Officer with a Masters Degree in Public Administration, Michael brings exceptional business management and customer service skills to the Clinic. As a result, his handling of day-to-day business activities allows Jean and Luke to focus primarily on The Medicine and patient concerns. Expanding his role as Office Manager and Business Partner, Michael and Jean were married on September 6th, 2005.
